Yīng Zhǎo Pài
is a jow that was developed for the Chinese styles of Eagle Claw and Chin Na. These styles are known for their joint locks, gripping techniques, throws and takedowns and pressure point techniques. Since these styles used a wide range of hand training techniques that include both gripping and striking this jow was developed with that in mind.
Yīng Zhǎo Pài is a modified Shaolin formula of Shaolin Nine Tigers that is useful for any style that has a focus on gripping, squeezing, twisting or joints and gouging where hand strength is important. It is also essential for contact training where solid objects are repeatedly struck such as in Iron Palm. It has properties that are valuable in bone and tendon healing. It also deals with blood stasis and stagnation associated with strikes and falls.
A great addition to any art that locks joints.
